The Philosophy of Sports to the Maxx
"Zen and Art of Movement Sports, or the Tao of the Extreme,"
these are how people describe their experience with Sports to the Maxx.
The difference is the "Maxx Method" integrates the technique
of the extreme sport while simultaneously doing exercises with personal
growth and balance. What happens after some time is an unprecedented stillness,
while moving and the idea of "being" one with sport.
Through this special form of training, Sports to the Maxx guides people
to build muscle, develop flexibility, and experience the "art"
of living the sport. The training is balanced between physical technique,
psychological games, and spiritual exercises. By understanding the relationship
between the connection of the body, mind and spirit, people begin to develop
and acquire extraordinary distinctions and exceed their perceived limitations
with newly found awareness, balance and confidence. These sports give
people the opportunity to play with other dynamics in an inspirational
outdoor environment, while experiencing the exhilaration of getting in
great shape.
Through inspiration, Sports to the Maxx coaches people to work out the
body and transform the inner state of being. Patanjali (a philosopher,
second century B.C.) said,
"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary
project, all your thoughts break their bounds: your mind transcends limitations,
your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in
a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties, and talents
become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far
than you ever dreamed yourself to be."
While coaching in the technique of the extreme sport, Sports to the Maxx
strengthens the inner body, which in turn inspires the outer body; it
is like a spiraling of energy. When a person is coached during exercise
at their maximum heart rate, with a sport that not only is physically
challenging, but also psychologically confronting, physical and personal
breakthroughs are predictable.
Franklin D. Roosevelt said, "Physical strength can never permanently
withstand the impact of spiritual force." Sports to the Maxx's training
uses spiritual force to develop physical strength (and visa-versa), through
the coaching conversation, and the result is, growth. It's not what you
are doing, it's who you are being, in the process, and that is an important
part of the Sports to the MaxxMethodÔ, the gift of being present.
Sports to the Maxx examines people's movements so they can discover the
patterns that hold them back in life from being all they can be.
The Maxx Method coaches the distinction of where physical movements,
parallel with the dynamics of their personal lives. Explained in the MaxxMethodÔ
of coaching, "If you look ahead, you move ahead; if you look up,
you stay up, if you look down, you fall down." If a person repeats
the movement still aware of the problem but is unable to change it with
physical effort, than it's source is in another domain.
What is than explored in the coaching is how this dynamic may live in
a person's life. An example of how the physical/psychological correlation
works with the inability of someone to keep their eyes looking ahead,
this motion translates to the person's ability to look at their future,
commit to a direction confidently with set goals.
A person, who is coached to bend their knees, repeatedly and can not execute
the move, will often have a challenging time with "rigidity"
as an issue in their life. By learning to bend their knees, they than
gain the possibility of more flexibility, not only in their physical body
with the sport, but also in other areas of their life, such as; work,
family or relationships, where being flexible could provide more freedom.
Clients have breakthroughs with what they believe they can do, and experience
a transformation in many areas of their lives as a result of gaining physical
balance, developing specific skills and comprehending how it is all related.
Sports that require the body to move faster than it would naturally,
afford people the opportunity to move through their fears faster and go
into the realm of possibility. Sports to the Maxx's method and philosophy
coaches, not only sports, but also life- to the Maxx. A law of physics
states that "A body in motion will stay in motion", therefore
when coaching a whole "Being" in motion (mind, body and spirit
simultaneously), unprecedented extraordinary results are common; and what
is possible is a breakthrough with life moving forward, powerfully. A
whole being in motion, coached in transformation, will stay in the state
of transformation, aligning with life's natural state- change. Through
the paradigm of working out while moving inward, life force is present.

one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material
assistance which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.

Local Malubite, Suzanne Maxx and her business Sports to the Maxx were
selected to be included in LA Magazine's "BEST of LA", July
1998 issue this year. Suzanne was named "Best In-Line Skate Instructor".
On July 17th the television crew of ABC's, "Eye On LA" came
out to Zuma Beach to shoot a segment about the skate training and instruction
for their show that will air on July 26th, 5:00 on channel 7. Suzanne
taught the show's correspondents to skate. Featured in the segment were
some of Coach Maxx's students, Malibites; Anthony (10yrs.) and Brittany(8yrs.)
Cassara, among others who made their first TV debut.
Suzanne Maxx teaches through the City of Malibu Parks and Recreation
Department. She was interviewed about her business Sports to the Maxx
which works with adults and youth. After recently returning from clinics
in Colorado, Maxx's Santa Monica Clinics with MGM rolled through the summer

theory about the universe, in quantum physics. by Stephan Hawkins, and
earlier by Albert Einstein who stated that matter is neither created of
destroyed .
If we move our body, and stretch our minds, simultaneously inspiring
our spirit to be in alignment with the soul's purpose; what occurs is
transformation in the whole being. A law of physics states that body in
motion will stay in motion, so a Being in motion will have unprecedented
extraordinary results-"breakthroughs with their lives moving powerfully."
As the laws of physics states, "Bodys in motion will stay in motion;"
